Tales for 1st through 3rd Grade

In Charlotte Mason's curriculum outlines, the following books are listed under "Tales" for 1st through 3rd grades:

-Grimm's Fairy Tales
-Aesop's Fables
-Pilgrim's Progress
(I believe this may be an illustrated version because the outline says "R.T.S." in parentheses.  I found this which lists R.T.S. as an illustrator, and it lists R.T.S. under "Editions of The Pilgrim's Progress for Children and Young People."  The R.T.S. versions were from 1859 and 1860.  The other possibility is that R.T.S. was the publisher?)
-Tales of Troy and Greece by Andrew Lang
-Charles Lamb's The Adventures of Ulysses
-The Heroes of Asgard
-The Tanglewood Tales by Nathaniel Hawthorne
-Our Island Story by H.E. Marshall
-Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Andersen
-The Fairy Ring
-Kipling's Just So Stories

Many of the curriculum outlines have (per three month term) 40 pages of a first book and 40 pages of a second book.  A single book was spread out over several terms.  This is different than what many homeschoolers like to do, which is read a single book per term.
