My four year old loves workbook pages. Very un-Charlotte Mason, I know. Anyway, she prefers workbooks to coloring books, but she's a pre-writer, which means that, while she can complete pages verbally, she needs me to write her answers. A solution? Rubber stamps!
Because we're homeschooling, we are not going to actively teach writing until she's six. I don't see the point in making her write badly, just to make her write. I want her to learn to write when her fine motor skills are developed, and she can "perfectly" form letters. Among other things, I want her to feel that she is capable of doing what we assign her to do, and that she should work with attention to beauty.
I love this. I'm going to pass it on to my young mom friends with toddlers.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad it was useful! :)
DeleteI am so doing this! Next one to teaching writing is left-handed, ahhh.
ReplyDeleteAre you a righty? I'm guessing that would be tricky being a righty teaching a lefty. Another adventure ;)
DeleteYes I am a righty. So far 3 out 5 are lefty!!! I tried finding a set on amazon but they all seemed too small. I did find the washable ink. Where did you purchase this set from?
